Halloween 2014

This year we actually did';t dress up that much, but we still had THE BEST HALLOWEEN EVER!

We're pretty broke, and most of the month I was VERY VERY SICK... I'm feeling better now... but last night we went HARD CORE trick-or-treating!

I was SO EXHAUSTED that I passed out at 10PM and slept until almost 11AM.

We thought we were starting late, but everyone started later than us this year. We got LARGE CANDY BARS!
And, people gave us extra candy, and even the pick of the litter, because since Halloween was on a Friday this year, most folks went out to parties, events, or festivals. Not only THAT but BOSTON was #7 on the List of best places to trick-or-treat this year, so everyone headed over to Beacon Hill.

Honestly, it's not that we didn't want to dress-up... we did... but:
A.) We were broke
B.) the weather was bogged with uncertainty, and we weren't sure whether it would be warm, cold, or rainy...
C.) I'd been sick most of this month, and Heidi was sick most of September, and NEITHER of us wanted to get sick again, because it takes about 3-5 weeks to recover from a flu or a bad cold because we both have complicated asthma.
D.) I gained some weight due to illness this month, and fitting anything was another issue...

So, I just put on some makeup, and these feather lashes, and donned my long coat, shoved some umbrellas into my bag, and brought my gloves...

We set out after 4PM this year, nearly 4:30 which is a LATE start for us.... We usually knock on the first doors around 4-4:30... not leave the house at that time... It's an OLD tradition to trick-or-treat at 4/4:30 because it's light outside, and considered "safe" for children.... however, New England recently kinda doesn't observe this... they tend to prefer it at dark... and there's PLENTY of adults, fathers, and Police officers around to observe, protect, and so on...

I gotta tell ya, people in Massachusetts can be such jerk, and SO RUDE, and MEAN.... but with one exception: HALLOWEEN!

I FRIGGIN' LOVE HALLOWEEN HERE!

People are SOOOOOOOOOO NICE! FRIENDLY! They EVER SMILE!!!! YES! FOR REAL!!

They are SOOOOOO GENEROUS! TOLERANT! POLITE! They even wave, hello, good-bye, hold open the doors, and say things like: Excuse me, Thank you... and HAVE A GOOD NIGHT!

NEVER EVER will you hear them do that EXCEPT on HALLOWEEN!

This is MY bag of treats! Lot's of Chocolates! Did I NOT tell you how generous everyone was last night??? And, my bag is the MODEST BAG.

Heidi's bag was a whole shopping bag elbow deep! It most be about 45-50 lbs of candy, easily!

I'm actually pretty happy with the way my makeup came out.

I used this Urban Decay Complexion Primer Potion, which actually worked REALLY WELL!
My forehead has lots of sun damage & "wisdom lines" which once I put makeup on makes me look OLD... however, when I mixed this with my basic coverup, and went over it with my mineral foundation powder it was incredibly less noticeable, including by my camera! BTW, all the makeup I used on my face was basic Drugstore brands, except of r my eyes which were the only High-end products.

On my eyes, I used eyeshadow by: Urban Decay's NAKED2 & NAKED3 palettes, Too Faced's Naked Eye & Natural Eye (Vintage) palettes, AVEDA's Give Twinkling Eyes palette, Victoria's Secret sparkling purple eyeshadow on a black base which was Physician's Formula.
The main gel eyeliner I used was my old tried & true Eyestudio black by Maybelline.
My coverup was just typical old Coverstick by Covergirl, and the black feather eyelashes are by Adelle.

The mineral powder foundations were all by Physicians' Formula, and L'Oreal, including the bronzer which was by Physician's Formula, and a hint of Too Faced... but not much, because it's too orange.

Lipsticks are contour layered with Revlon & L'Oreal.

For the record, I generally HATE products by L'Oreal, other than SOME of their lip products... but this Urban Decay Primer Potion eliminated the allergic reactions I generally get from their foundations and other face products, and I experiences no over drying, nor shiny wrinkling or shriveling usually accompanying these products.

Oh, and my hair has been growing back MUCH MUCH thicker lately! YES!
Moroccan Argan Oil is AWESOME! It really works!

One of these days, in the future I would LOVE to trick-or-treat in SALEM!

Swimming

I was very happy once I could finally go swimming after surgery. The entire ordeal has been unpleasant, and a hassel.

So, here's me, at the pool, usually every day... around 4pm-7pm because I don't want to burn my skin.

It's been overall BETTER than previous years! Interactions w/neighbors are pleasant, nice, friendly... the kids share, get along much better now, and ever since I helped my daughter to be confident enough to swim on the deep end w/her S.C.U.B.A. mask she started challenging herself on her own, which lead to jumping etc., now virtually ALL the children swim on the deep end, including WAY WAY WAAAAY little children, AND without their "floaties" as they call them in the local tongue.

However, there was this incident with this racist druggie couple, especially the bleach blond, that mooned everyone, ranted racist comments, called a little girl "the 'c' word" in front of EVERYONE, then attacked the lifeguard, got arrested, etc...

I left right away! Got my daughter, and WE LEFT!
Then, since my daughter & I have been into "mysteries" lately, such as Scooby-Doo, Harry potter, Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, and Where On Earth is Carmon Sandiego, turned out THIS woman became our rime suspect after an incident involving a double tire puncture with nails on our van. There were a number of clues, which we couldn't account for at first, but after investigating the entire matter, circumstances, evidence, and testimonials from my neighbors, a VERY clear picture emerged...

Not, only is THAT woman being evicted, her lease is up, and she MUST leave by the 30th of THIS month. She's ALSO been arrested BEFORE, and singled out & targeted another neighbor... whom mysteriously found issues w/her own car, and scratched, around the same time (recently before the tire incident) as ours.

This stuff goes deep. I'm talking court, police, authorities, break-ins (with video evidence), harassment, trespassing... n this is all to my other neighbor, whom is also ethnic... not only this, but this woman is in CLOSE connection to (personally) with the unit WE'VE had issues with over the years, I'm talking everything from prejudice, racial, to even racist.

I personally DO NOT care what language people speak at the pool. I speak Chinese often to my daughter at the pool.

But, other than that, going to the pool has been VERY good this year!

So... here I am... I'm sure I look all beat-up, or run down, from surgery, and being so sick all year...
But, this is me... for real...

No makeup.

Just all natural...
Been trying to loose the weight...

but, when ur in poverty, ya can;t exactly afford to eat healthy CONSISTENTLY.

That's a luxury for AT LEAST the middle class...
I've never felt so OLD before... It's kinda weird...

But, when I'm at the pool, I like to do some toning reps exercises.

I can do them pretty hardcore now.

But, the kids all LIKE me so much... no idea why... and they ALL want attention from me. I guess they have no concept of "I'm doing exercises, so please respect my privacy".

But, it's NOT a big deal. No matter how many times I say NO, they never give up... then, next thing I know, we're all like: Blah-blah-blah, then Ha-ha-ha!

Kids! :D
This is me all wet...

My swimsuit is reversible. I got it last year at Marshall's (South Weymouth) and it's by Juicy Couture. and has charms on the "strings". I got is SO cheap too!

Halloween 2010 Tribal Fusion Bellydance Costume

Sorry, they're NOT the best photos. Halloween 2010 was also REALLY COLD!

It started out OK, then, the temperature just DROPPED!

We didn't feel that well! We also took a fellow Girl Scout Leader on her FIRST ever Trick-or-treat since she had always previously believed that Halloween was some evil Holiday!

Religion is often STUPID!

Halloween in the USA is a SECULAR Holiday Tradition! You dress up, AND YOU GET FREE TREATS FORM TOTAL STRANGERS & NEIGHBORS!

IT'S FREE! BEST HOLIDAY EVER!

AND, if you're at home that day, and you don't give out treats, it's supposed to be bad luck for you!
(probably, because you will get your house & car egged & covered with toilet paper! Ha-ha!)

Anyways, I NEVER do anything EVIL for Halloween, I just dress-up (often sexy) and GET MY FARE SHARE OF FREE STUFF!

What? You think you're TOO COOL to Trick-or-treat?

You know what? I've helped countless foreigners integrate into living here in the USA, and they LOVE Halloween!

They say:

What? You just wear a costume, or make your own, then you knock on people's doors, and they have to give you free candy or treats???

YES!

AWESOME!

 Gotta cover-up!
It's was COLD that year!

 So many layers!
Sorry, it's a bad photo.

ERMAGERD!!!!

CANDY!!!!!!!!!
