(My) Costumes That Psyche You Out!
People frequently ask me about my costumes, and make comments about how I shouldn't spend so much money on them since I'm so broke!
First of all, I'm VERY thrifty, and I generally don't buy costumes that much, I make my own from scratch, or make an costume ensemble from old clothes.
See this costume here?
That's 2 old skirts I bought years ago. 1 I bought in New Hope PA, and the other was a bargain I got from MACY*S during the recession. It was a $40+ skirt that I paid like $3 for.
You can clearly see these 2 old skirts. And, EVERYTHING I'm wearing is NOT new except some of the makeup, which by this point was over a year at least old...
Now, are you REALLY ready to be psyched out???
Well, GOOD!
See these 2 skirts I'm wearing here????
Yeah! These skirts!
THEY ARE THE EXACT SAME 2 SKIRTS!!!!!!!
The only difference is that I re-dyed them in the autumn in the washing machine for a few bucks a box at Wal-Mart.
Yes!
For REAL!
Now, what was that you were saying about spending so much of my money on costumes, again???

300th Article Post: 90s Underground HI-NRG Eurodance Techno Mixes
My 300th Blog Article Post!
In case you didn't already notice, I absolutely LOVE RAVE Culture & techno!
If not for Tribal Fusion, Yoga, anime, and Chinese Pop... and playing violin when I was a kid... I'd probably ONLY be listening to TECHNO... and maybe some 80s music... (and Disney)
But, as it stands.... Tribal Fusion Belly Dance REALLY opened me up to EVERYTHING. I even have Balkan brass & folk waltzes.
You have no clue just how eclectic my hard drive is. But, lemme keep it real: it's MOSTLY TECHNO! (Got a lot of Tribal Fusion too... like a ton)
Regardless of all the lovely musical stuffs I have.... My deepest LOVE is Hi-NRG Eurodance & Happy Hardcore!
It feels so good! It sounds so good!
I JUST want THAT feeling!
To me, "Heaven" ideally would be that feeling in that moment swept up in the song, in the melody! Those 4/4 beats! Samples, dubs, synthesizers, bass. Like a sound, like a concept, like an emotional euphoria...
I DON'T need drugs to get high. Just the music!
If Heaven is REAL, I don't want to be ANYTHING, I JUST want THAT!
I couldn't care about evolving my soul, or becoming an expansion of whatever...
I'd rather JUST be the expression of the music, AND the listener, the receiver, the bass, the moment & the emotion with bliss of infinity, with no time, no end, no beginning... so meaningful, it's beyond meaning, and doesn't even need it.
A lil' bit of Hardcore Techno:

90s Nostalgia!
Ever since about late January I would find myself with 90s Nostalgia! Frequently!
I found myself listening to everything from "Black Box", to "L.O.F.T.", to "Corona", to "Rockell", to "Lasgo".
Anyways, I kept having an uptick with people "liking" my mixes which began having a trend to old school 4/4 beats techno, like: Hi-NRG, Eurodance, Happy Hardcore, etc.
So, I went to 8tracks, and thought about doing some other mixes... I did another bohemian mix....
Then, I felt like doing 90s stuff....
So, I made an underground 90s mix of Dance & Hip Hop with quite a bit of UK & Euro types of stuff...
Next thing I knew, I was publishing lots of techno. Especially 90s, and a lil' bit of the early 2000s.
Makes me miss Pirate Pebbs & going to Karaoke.
We'd discussed producing her a theme song, and maybe some singles. But, we lack funding. I have no idea what she would do her theme song as... I figure if I helped her produce an E.P. it might sound something like Prince's 80s classic "Purple Rain" album, or just general pop & dance, maybe some nautical fusion.
However, if I were to do a theme song I'd do it as an old school style Hi-NRG Eurodance techno, but ALSO have a Tribal-fusion Folk version, with violins, zills, doumbeks, and maybe some kind of strings like dulcimers, lutes, mandolins, something like that... I dunno, something with Yo-ho-ho, ya-ya-yo... I dunno, Pirate-ish stuffs! That way I could sing in karaoke & clubs, but also preform with a live band at Pirate & Ren' fairs... ;) 'cause some folks are kinda "purist" and snobby. And, id probably make a funny video...
If i produced an album, I'd also have to do the same thing. Do the Techno version, and THEN do the songs in another album in the analog version with real acoustic & hand played interments.
I like the techno theme because of the Eurodance angle & the whole "fusion" and Steam Punk, and futurism... and the "pirate" side of downloading things, stealing intel, covert stuff, or all kinds of futurism themes popular in the 90s in Europe. Sounds like a lot of fund to play with! Zeplins, and Dirigibles, and space ships... Holodecks, Virtual reality... I LOVE Star trek, and Star Wars, and exotic things...
But, I also like the Tribal fusion stuff, and ancient Arabic & Egyptian beats, and Nautical whiles, Celtic & folk music, or New Age, Gypsy, or Revolutionary marching drums. Maybe even Pigeon English, ha!
If I were to produce a techno E.P. It would be a mix of sounding like "La Bouche" and "Blümchen". I would ALSO like to do some songs NOT in English! Thankfully, we live in a time period where people can move beyond the stuck-up attitude of English Only. I'd probably just stick to languages I can deal with, like: German, Mandarin, and maybe Pekingese. But, I think some Arabic fusion could be good. Yella Habibi! :D
Too bad, I don't have the funds for that tho... right now... AND, since I had surgery on my throat I'd need vocal coaching for a while...
So, it's kinda just a dream I/we have... for now... kinda frustrated, because if something had gone through like it was supposed to, I could already be started on any of that. That, and I also have some other creative things/productions including animation/video/publishing also which could've at least started going into beginning fazes of production, which is also why I've been so quiet. But, I can't move forward until THAT stuff does.
But, I'm still broke over hear... It's like being stuck in limbo... I have the money, but I DON'T. It's like being stuck between it. And, I'm running out of food too.
It's really a shame because I have SO many talented friends, associates, but they can't get work either.

Certified Gold: Gypsy Mix via 8Tracks
Internet folks like "Gypsy Music"
There's been an uptick in the amount of people not only listening to my "8Tracks' mixes since I started publishing them nearly 1 ago, but, 1 of my mixes also went Certified Gold.
For a while there, some of the people would listen to my Tribal fusion mixes, Dub Step Techno, and when I published my first Trance Techno Mix, it was pretty popular for a while.
But, then, it was mostly just the slow tribal stuff for a while....
Then, I published a Mediterranean flavored old school Eurodance techno, and that mix has been gaining popularity constantly ever since. Then my techno mixes also started to get more plays, and even my Chinese music.
So, I guess 4/4 beats are are just infectious!

My Makeup Using Urban Decay's Naked2 Palette
Disclaimer: For the record, I have NOT been paid [by UD] to do this post. (Yeah, right! I wish.)
I wanted to show some of the darker, extreme looks, like night time looks, (eyes) they you can get using the Naked2 palette by Urban Decay.
I've gotten similar looks with drug store brands, but I've found that Naked2 is of a uniquely excellent quality.

Bloggy!
I'd fully intended to continue blogging more photos... I have several more... and I had also intended to shoot more... but, it's like every hour or so, something happens, or comes up, even in the middle of the night!
I just went up & down the North Eastern Coast... might have to do it again...
anyways... I keep finding kool music stuffs online, to share... I know some o' u tell me you like they kool finds I post...
And, even tho' I LOVE independent artists/musicians, I actually came across Spotify, recently... and, I just LOVE ol' 90s' dance music... I also love finding the rare stuff from that time period, and stuff that was popular outside of the USA that I'd NEVER heard of, because it's ALL GOOD to me.
Anyways, here's a tid-bit I found:
I'll try to do an image manipulation graphic for New Year.
It's been a wilf ride...
and, I STILL never got 'round to posting my MLP gingerbread Ponies yet, on my art blog... but, I will.... that is... unless a certain pending something of mine happens... then it'll get pushed back...
I'm going crazy w/several things I gotta multitask my way through... but, I can manage...
But, if things turn out (and I expect that they will) I may be able to take my Pirateness to some festivals, events, conventions, and take my buds with me....

Wicked Stuffs
Just a few more of my wickedness... in motion...
Just a few more frames from this photoshoot.
I think I'm about to wrap this up in the next few blog entries...
Too bad I can't take my character to Burning Man, ya know?
